He teaches:  Michael Harner's The Way Of The Shaman

I stepped onto the shamanic path in 1983 when, in a local Minneapolis bookstore, the topmost copy of Michael Harner's The Way of the Shaman leapt off its stack by the cash register and landed in my hands. It was shouting: "READ ME!" I got chills and said to the clerk behind the counter, "I guess I'll take this too."

A few months after I read his book, Michael Harner himself came to teach a workshop in basic shamanism. After taking that, I was most definitely hooked. I have been exploring ever since and have learned from many other teachers along the way. Besides Michael Harner, I have worked principally under the guidance of Sandra Ingerman, Bill Brunton, and Americo Yabar.

For over fifteen years, I have taught shamanism and facilitated drumming and journeying gatherings at Pathways, a healing center in Minneapolis. I have also taught classes in shamanism throughout the United States. And in 2008, I joined the faculty of the Foundation For Shamanic Studies, and now represent it in the upper Midwest.

I am certified as a shamanic counselor by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies in Mill Valley, California, and have completed Sandra Ingerman’s Two Year Teacher Training Program in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am ordained as a healing minister by the Center for Wholeness in Edina, Minnesota. Between 2003 and 2006, I served two tours of duty as a Ministerial Guide for the Lake Harriet Spiritual Community, an interfaith community in Minneapolis. Currently I live and maintain a healing practice in Minneapolis.

She teaches: Beginning Astrology

I'm not exactly sure when I began paying attention to astrology, but I know my mother made sure that I knew my time of birth from the moment I could think.   By the time I was a teenager I was hooked, had purchased Joseph Goodavage's book, "Write Your Own Horoscope" and was besieging my friends with astrology.  They didn't seem to mind though as they began asking me to do their horoscopes.   And an astrologer was born.

Throughout the years I have taken many, many astrology classes of all levels and various orientations.   I learned that astrology can be interpreted and used from quite different viewpoints and for very different purposes.  It incorporates karma as well as the concrete in this current life.  It can forecast future events and future energies coming into the native's life enabling me to help someone determine the optimum time to do something or to know when a particularly difficult time will pass and the energy they're dealing with will pass.   Astrology can help people make wise financial investments, form good partnerships, choose the appropriate date for partnership to form (including weddings and businesses), begin a trip and so much more.

I've studied with many different teachers and what most stands out from those experiences is the different attitudes and perspectives that astrologers (or readers of any type) take toward their readings.   Each of us brings different understandings, orientations and knowledge based on our own astrological energies as well as on our own experiences and exposures.  I have always found that listening to other peoples' views and sharing in their knowledge has helped me to grow and evaluate in my chosen field.

I have always been fascinated by astrology and I believe my students and clients seek it out for the same reasons; we love to learn about ourselves, find out who we are and what's coming up for us in the future.   Through the study and exercise of astrology I've learned so much about myself and helped others to learn about themselves as well.   It's just plain fascinating.  I look forward to sharing with you the tools and knowledge to continue moving forward on your life's journey.
